Just when you imagine that after so much time and so many delightful wines, Tuscany would run out of its ability to suprise us with new wines, along comes Morellino di Scansano.
I'm going to say it right now before anyone else does: Morellino is the next Brunello. It's a clone of Sangiovese, and these wines are spectacular in quality. Right now, they are undiscovered and undervalued... the next big thing, which is what we always want to be bringing you from the Wine School.
This class + dinner will take you deep into a new part of Tuscany called Maremma: coastal Tuscany, north and west of Florence all the way to the sea. We will taste six different expressions of Morellino, each with a course of Tuscan cuisine.
